Speaking of the Shoe...

I was just there a couple hours ago. I've got my first test in Tsunokai's class today and I figured what better way to start the day than with a three hour study sesh at the Shoe. Barb always brings good luck. Too bad for me Barb wasn't there today and instead I was served by some gay guy. I'm sure that's good luck somewhere...?

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. To be honest, I haven't been in the best of moods and I didn't want to blog about it. I think I'm in a mid-quarter slump. Not quite depressed, just really bummed out. I really really miss you both and Mitch. Up until this point it's been pretty bearable, not too bad. But lately I've just been falling into these moments where I wish I could just call one of you up and meet for a beer or something and it really sucks that I can't do that. Granted there are a ton of people I can/could hang out with if I wanted to, but it's just not the same. I really miss you guys. My early start to the day at the Shoe ended up being the lowest that I've felt so far- just being there made me think about you two a lot and how I really don't want to hang out with anyone else except for you. No dice though. Guess I'll have to wait until January. I know I'll be fine within a couple days at the most, so no worries. I just wanted to clue someone in to this and I don't have any other best friends right now. WOW. What a sob story. So, not to be an asshole or anything, but the next time you guys decide to jet off for some fancy euro-adventure, just try to not do it at the same time, okay? (Insert wink smiley face here)

SO to cheer myself up I bought a pair of $170 boots from Mi Shoes and a bagel sandwich from the Bagelry for dinner later at work. And it was the special of the day too so it was cheap. Retail therapy anyone?

Now I'm in the comp lab drinking some cran Kombucha and finishing up my writing portfolio, due today. I have to go straight to work after my test which is actually one of my favorite places to be these days because my coworkers are all awesome people and disconnected from my other "social" life. Then I'm going to watch Slither which I am really excited about.

You guys BETTER give me a call when you're all dreezed together this week. I'm almost hoping (although it doesn't take too much) that I'll miss the call so I can have a wonderful horrible voicemail to look forward to.

Adios muchachos.

Batman!

That's who I'm going to be for Halloween. Yup, I'm back on the bandwagon. Guess who's going to be Robin??

Hello ladies!

Well I'm about to go to the gym... for the first time in three years! (Excluding that one time I met up with you a for a hot tub dip Jessie). And I am really excited about it. I'm probably going to be really lost and really lame and by the end of it really really sweaty but, oh well! Wish me luck ...?

My weekend in Seattle was pretty swell. Saw two movies for free thanks to my sister and went out to some dive bars on capitol hill with the mitchster and took my first shot in gods knows how long. I was by far the best gift-giver this Birthday weekend and feel very proud of it. Mom made indian food for dinner and for dessert we had rich chocolate cake with heavy cream poured over it and it was soooooo good and I think my Uncle (visiting from Jersey) got pretty sloshed which isn't too surprising (he likes to take an early-evening walk around the neighborhood with his drop-kick dog, a glass of wine, and a cigar).

I've been putting up posters on campus for the Pickfords current or coming-soon film and they have been HOOKING IT UP. I've only done it twice and have accumulated eight movie passes (which the roomies used to see King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters yesterday) and a $25 gift certificate to either of the La/Fiamma eateries downtown. Definitely using it at the pizza joint because their burgers honestly kind of suck. BALLS.

It's taken me forever to track down when Gossip Girls is airing on CTV but I finally figured it out and you can bet your butt that's what I'll be doing tonight at seven pm. I've heard pretty bad things about it, but it sounds like a pretty bad/good guilty pleasure. The roomies and I have been on a rolllllin' Office kick and cannot get enough of it. Thank God Mary (or her roommate or someone she knows) has pretty much the whole series on DVD so we can all feed our fiends. I love The Office.

News on the Bellingham front: there's a fellow running for Mayor who lives in the York District. On Grant St. One block from my house. Way to represent Bellingham, man! Except I heard that he's actually not the best candidate. But I just thought you guys might get a kick out of that. Also did you guys ever see the funky new cross-walks they put in downtown? They look like Oreo cookies. Kind of.

Well that's all for now. Off to the gym!

Couple things (in response to Jessie's comments):

1. I don't know if your roomies were at the lax party. Odds are they probably were... but I'm still not sure who they are anyway. I know you've told me a couple times but to be honest it's kind of one of those things that goes in one ear and out the other... it's hard for me to keep track of simply names and physical descriptions, an actual introduction would help. Does Jake know who they are??

2. Malt liquor is still readily available, just not at Shell/Chevron. I discovered that Nelsons has Mickeys 40s which is convienent in several ways because A. they're open till ten B. they're on the way to Walker/Andrews and C. they're just pretty tight.

3. Yeah, bummer you're missing all the tight shows. But at least you can look at the bright side of it (which I'm sure you already are): you're missing the shows for a pretty awesome reason and I would have to say its worth it. No gain without sacrifice, right? Plus, remember when we were underage and there were always tight shows playing and we were pissed we couldn't go? Well then you turn 21 (or in your case return from Italy) and realize that tight shows still happen all the time and you can still go to them, even if you missed a couple stellar ones. (Like PUTS, which is going to be amazing).

Moving on...
I'm in Seattle right now, I've been here since Friday because it's Birthday weekend at the Jardine-Hinckley household and I'm not going back to Bellingham until tomorrow morning because Mitch and I have a hot date with the food network tonight.
I'm experiencing a bit of writers block and have a cup of tea steeping so I think I'm going to sign off now... have fun this week you guys, don't do anything I wouldn't do, and take lots of pictures!!!
